However the cottage is not for everyone. It is my humble cottage which means that it is fine for an inexpensive beach vacation in a great town. This is not for those who expect a four star accommodation. It is also only large enough for two people.

The Grand Case Cottage is located on the French side of historic St. Martin, in the center of St Martin Island activities. While you stay in the Villalady’s Grand Case Cottage, you will be able to enjoy a tropical assortment of St. Martin activities. Choose from shopping, nightly entertainment, St. Martin Island tours, snorkeling and fishing rentals, and many other waterfront activities that are available at this seaside cottage. The fun of St. Martin does not stop there! Enjoy the views as you pack a lunch and take an adventure to the nearby beaches of Orient, Anse Marcal, and Pinel. While at the beach, why not enjoy some St. Martin snorkel or scuba in the crystal blue Caribbean Ocean.

Inside this tropical Grand Case Cottage, you will be amazed with an assortment of the necessities and life’s little luxuries. This casual waterfront property rental includes one bedroom loaded with two twin-size beds, which can be converted into a king –size bed. The bedroom includes air conditioning for a cozy night’s rest away from the warm air of the tropics. A bathroom shower is also available to wash your sand covered legs while at the St. Martin beaches. To add to the tropical breezes, we offer large ceiling fans for you to enjoy. The kitchen in this Grand Case Cottage is well stocked and fully equipped with utensils, glassware, and dishes. To complete the package, Villalady has included a stove, refrigerator, sink, and coffeemaker.

Grand Case Cottage is a non-smoking island accommodation.  Please confine all tobacco use to the outside patio for the comfort of all.

There is no phone to disturb you. We can suggest a cell phone rental if a phone is a necessity. Ask and we will recommend an excellent phone service for the week or two you might need one.

Our maid service visits the Grand Case Cottage twice weekly to keep things clean and in good working order.

There is a one week minimum stay for the cottage. You can request shorter stays if it is available. Christmas and New Years are only one week minimum stay. Longer stays are prorated.

Internet: There is a high speed internet cafe located in Grand Case, next to Le Bounty: DVpro Computer Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30am to 6pm. Their price is $3.50 for 30 minutes and $5 for 1 hour.

Hi Roberta,

I just wanted to thank you for working with us on the villa with such short notice.  It worked out perfectly for us and we really enjoyed our stay there.  It was so nice to spend some time back in our beloved Grand Case, and Mrs. Hodge was ever so delightful to speak with.  We will be renting with you again.

"Grand Case Cottage is centrally located in Grand Case, French Side. It is a 3-minute walk to the grocery store and restaurants are even closer.  We ate at the Lolos by the wharf several times and really liked the food at the south end of town at the Creole Rock Café, on the beach side where the road splits.  It does not have a big sign but has the name on the menu board.  Particularly liked the goat stew and shrimp stir-fry.  The breakfast place across the street was also very good. Try the Lobster Bisque at The Honky Tonk Bar on the Boardwalk in Phillipsburg. All food good here.

The Cottage had all one needs to cook meals, however, if you need brand new utensils and pots, bring them with you. Previous guests had left a variety of bottles in the bar, bottled water and a couple of drinks in the fridge and tea and condiments in the cupboard. Thank you.  There were more than enough towels and the cottage was kept very clean. Claudia was very easy to contact by phone. We would recommend reading the journal that is in the kitchen, lots of useful information about buses, where to eat etc.

We would recommend renting a car to get to other spots on the island. Buses are great for getting to Marigot and Phillipsburg but they do not go to attractions like the Butterfly Farm, well worth a visit, St. Maarten Park, or other beaches.  Grand Case beach is lovely and we swam here almost everyday. Octopus Diving is a 5-minute walk north past the Lolos.  They are very friendly and helpful.  We went to Tintamare Island with them, the water was still murky from being stirred up by Hurricane Omar, but we would go out with them again.

The patio at the cottage got the sun in the morning and was shady by the afternoon, perfect.  We would recommend The Cottage to those who like quiet, but want to be close to stores, restaurants and the water. We were fortunate that our neighbour had just moved out and we had the patio to ourselves for most of our stay. We would definitely return.

Hi, Roberta!

We had an excellent time in St. Maarten! We truly enjoyed the cottage and especially its location right on the beach. With such convenience we did not bother to visit the other beaches. The privacy, few people, and to be honest, day and evening aromas from the restaurants were just awesome!!! The cottage was nice. We enjoyed having the kitchen and easy access to the place while on the beach. If we wanted to get something to eat or drink it was steps away. As of now, we would like to reserve the cottage again from Wednesday, February 14, 2007, leaving on Wednesday, February 21, 2007.

The cottage/vacation was WONDERFUL! We will definitely go back. It could not have been more perfect. The cottage was EXACTLY what we were looking for (as close to the water as possible!). We enjoyed great meals, cooking in and going out. We may need 2 weeks next time, I wasn't quite ready to come home. Thank you so much for making our "second honeymoon" so easy and relaxing! I'll be in touch about dates for next year (if I can wait that long!).

I wanted to get back to you on our visit to the cottage.  It was GREAT.  Just what we were looking for on this trip.  Usually we stay at somewhere more upscale but we would definitely stay there again.  Almost like being on a ship. Unpack & have fun.  That was us.  You had all the conveniences we needed. Also, your info on stores markets, etc was good.  All the yrs we've been going & we never heard of the loterie farm.  Thank you.  The food was terrific.  Next time we will try one of your other properties & if we can convince the kids to join us, maybe a villa.  On second thought we'll come alone. Your expertise was evident from the simple rental contract, easy & affordable pmt. schedule, directions, and phone #'s, and thanks for putting me in contact with Sharon Harris.  You will hear from me & Diane again.
